1. Data controller
The data controller is Visit Patagonia, with offices at Av. del Libertador 1532, El Calafate (Santa Cruz, Argentina) and Buenos Aires.
You can reach us with any privacy question at contacto@visitpatagonia.com.ar.
2. What data we collect
We only collect the data we need to provide the service:
- Contact: first name, last name, email, phone.
- Booking: ID or passport, date of birth, nationality, hotel in destination, food restrictions, comments.
- Payment: card data never touches our servers — it's handled by MercadoPago or PayPal directly. We only store the transaction ID.
- Browsing: IP address, browser, pages visited, via strictly necessary and analytics cookies.
3. How we use your data
We use your data exclusively to:
- Process your booking, issue the voucher and coordinate tour operations.
- Reply to inquiries you send via form, WhatsApp or email.
- Send you payment confirmation and trip updates.
- Comply with legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your data. We don't share it with third parties for commercial purposes.
4. Who we share it with
Only with parties strictly required to deliver the service:
- On-the-ground providers (hotels, transport, guides) when they're part of your booking.
- Payment gateways (MercadoPago, PayPal) to process the transaction.
- Email services we use to send vouchers and confirmations.
- Authorities when required by law.
6. Your rights
Under Argentina's Personal Data Protection Law (25.326), you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Rectify it if it's outdated or incorrect.
- Delete it when it's no longer necessary or you withdraw consent.
- Opt out of commercial communications.
To exercise any of these rights, email contacto@visitpatagonia.com.ar with your full name and ID. We reply within 10 business days.
7. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data: HTTPS in transit, access control, backups and least-privilege processes. No system is 100% breach-proof; if you spot an incident, please reach out.
8. How long we keep data
Booking data is kept as long as Argentine accounting law requires (10 years for invoicing records). Inquiry contact data is kept while the conversation is open and removed 24 months later if there's no follow-up.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. The "last updated" date appears above. If changes are significant we notify you by email when possible.
