Chalten Soft
Excursion overview
El Chaltén is a small tourist village located at the foot of the Andes Mountains and on the banks of the Río de las Vueltas, from where it is possible to contemplate a unique and exclusive natural scenery of Los Glaciares National Park that combines the magic of glaciers, hidden lagoons, Lake Viedma and the mythical presence of Mount Fitz Roy. From the town you can usually see its unmistakable and imposing summit, almost always covered by a cloud.
Leaving from Calafate, the road enters the steppe following the shores of Lake Argentino to take the detour to the mythical Route 40 heading north, crossing a landscape of extreme aridity. Further on, it joins Provincial Route 41, which heads west until it reaches El Chaltén.
Once in El Chaltén in the morning, you will take a 1:30 hour hike to the Mirador de los Cóndores.
After lunch in a typical restaurant of the town (INCLUDED), we will hike to Chorrillo del Salto, (4 kms from downtown) from where you can enjoy the scenery until the agreed time to return to Calafate.
Note: The order of the visits can be reversed.
