Excursion overview
Pioneers is “the other view of Los Glaciares National Park” From the south, to the very front of the Moreno Glacier .
Traveling along the old Estancias route until entering the Park through the Lago Roca section, you will reach the Estancia Nibepo Aike, where the participants share a shearing demonstration and enjoy a picnic lunch in the Quincho.
From here, a short walk to the Los Pioneros dock to board the semi-rigid boat and navigate Lake Roca and Brazo Rico, with views of the Adriana and Moreno ranges until disembarking at Playa de las Monedas, where a pleasant walk through the forest begins until the imposing Perito Moreno Glacier is seen from the SOUTH viewpoint of the Glacier.
The boat advances to a new meeting point, from where, with everyone back on board, it resumes its journey in front of the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier and make a toast with millenary ice.
**The nautical tour ends at Puerto Bajo las Sombras, where the vehicle awaits to take the group to the traditional observation walkways of the glacier, in the afternoon the orientation of the sun changes and the scenery has a special appeal.
The return trip along route 11 to El Calafate.
